What I help with
- Email that isn’t arriving, isn’t sending, or keeps landing in spam
- Sign-in problems: forgotten passwords, lockouts, and verification codes that never arrive
- Email setup on a new phone, tablet, or computer
- Outlook problems, such as missing folders, broken search, or repeated password prompts
- Two-step sign-in, so a stolen password alone can’t get anyone in
- OneDrive and SharePoint: moving files in and sharing them with the right people
- For businesses: email at your own domain, adding and removing users, and the settings that keep your messages out of spam
How I work
I find out exactly what’s failing before changing anything, whether it’s the account, the device, or the email settings behind your domain.
For businesses with their own domain, I check the settings that tell other email providers your messages are legitimate (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC). When they’re wrong, customers can stop receiving your emails without anyone noticing.
You keep full control of your accounts. When the work is done, I confirm you can sign in and that your recovery options are up to date.
New employees and people who leave
For a business, most Microsoft 365 problems start on someone’s first or last day. When someone joins, I set up their account, mailbox, and two-step sign-in, and make sure they can reach the files and shared mailboxes they need from day one.
When someone leaves, I shut off their access, keep their email and files available to the business, and release the license so you stop paying for it. I can also review who has access to what, flag anything that looks out of place, and fix only what you approve.
OneDrive and SharePoint
I move files off laptops, old hard drives, and email attachments into OneDrive or SharePoint, set up sharing so the right people see the right folders, and fix sync problems that leave people working from different copies.
Keep in mind that syncing isn’t the same as a backup. If a file is deleted or damaged, that change syncs too. Microsoft keeps deleted files and older versions for a limited time, and I’ll explain what that covers and whether you need a separate backup.
Relevant experience
Results from my previous roles, before starting MJC Business IT:
- Reviewed 145 Microsoft 365 accounts and removed unnecessary access from 31 of them.
- Built PowerShell automation that handles the full employee offboarding checklist, with a safe test mode and audit logs.
- Moved 1.3 TB of company files from an in-office server to OneDrive, with zero downtime for staff.
What a customer said
Great experience with their cybersecurity and IT services. Mathew was professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout the process. He explained everything clearly, responded quickly to questions, and made sure the issue was handled properly. I felt confident knowing my systems and information were being taken care of.
What it costs
Most Microsoft 365 and email problems can be handled remotely at $85 an hour with a 30-minute minimum, then billed in 15-minute increments. Setting up email for a whole business gets a written estimate first. Before any work starts, you approve the plan, the estimated cost, and a spending limit. See full pricing and travel terms.
Common questions
Do I need Microsoft 365?
Not necessarily. If you only need Word, Excel, and email for yourself or your family, a personal or family plan may be enough. Businesses usually need a business plan. I’ll explain the difference, and you buy it directly from Microsoft.
Can you set up email with my business name?
Yes. I can set up email at your own domain, such as [email protected], and configure the settings that help other email providers trust your messages.
What is two-step sign-in, and do I need it?
It means signing in takes your password plus a second step, usually a code or an approval on your phone. Almost everyone should have it on for email, because it stops someone who only has your password from getting in.
I’m locked out of my account. Can you help?
Often, yes. Personal Microsoft accounts have their own recovery steps, and for business accounts an administrator can usually restore access. I’ll walk you through what applies to your account. I can’t get around Microsoft’s security checks, and nobody legitimate will offer to.
Is it safe to let you into my account?
You stay in control. I only access what the job needs, with your permission, and I will never ask you to send a password by email or through the website form.
